Newton (N) is the SI unit of force, being the force required to give a mass of one kilogram an acceleration of 1 m s^-2 (N = kg m s^-2). It was named after the British scientist Sir Isaac Newton (1642-1727).

ampere    →   amper

Ampere (A) is the SI base unit of electric current.

The ampere is that constant current which, if maintained in two straight parallel conductors of infinite length, of negligible circular cross-section, and placed 1 metre apart in vacuum, would produce between these conductors a force equal to 2×10^-7 newton per metre of length.

joule    →   džul

Joule (J) is the SI derived unit of energy, work, and heat. The joule is the work done when the point of application of a force of one newton is displaced a distance of one metre in the direction of the force (J = N m). The unit was named after the British scientist James Prescott Joule (1818-1889).

pascal    →   paskal

Pascal (Pa) is the SI derived unit of pressure. One pascal is the pressure generated by a force of one newton acting on an area of one square metre (Pa = N/m²). It was named after the French mathematician, physicist and philosopher Blaise Pascal (1623-1662).
