mineral acid → mineralna kiselina
Mineral acid is an acid made from minerals by chemical reaction, e.g. hydrochloric acid is produced from sodium chloride and sulphuric acid is made from sulphur.
mineral oils → mineralna ulja
Mineral oils are oily liquids that are composed of hydrocarbons and are obtained as a product of petroleum, tar, coal, wood etc. distillation. They are used as lubricants.
mineral water → mineralna voda
Mineral water is a groundwater that rises to the surface through a natural opening in the earth or rock and contains a relatively high concentration of mineral ions and trace of elements which can be radioactive or thermal.

Minerals are compounds in which metals can be found in nature. Metals in nature can appear as:

mineralization → mineralizacija
Mineralization is a process in which organic compounds (e.g. dead plant or animal material) are converted to inorganic compounds (e.g. nitrate, carbon dioxide).
mineralogy → mineralogija
Mineralogy is a branch of geology that studies minerals: their structure and properties and the ways of distinguishing them.
anhydrous → anhidrid
Anhydrous (without water) is an applied to minerals which do not contain water of crystallization or water of chemical combination. For example, strongly heated copper (II) sulphate pent hydrate (CuSO4•5H2O) produces anhydrous copper (II) sulphate (CuSO4). Less stable and more dangerous to use than hydrated.
antimony → antimon
Antimony has been known since ancient times. The origin of the name comes from the Latin word stibium meaning mineral stibnite. It is hard, brittle, silvery-white semimetal. Stable in dry air. Toxic by ingestion or inhalation. Antimony is found in stibnite (Sb2S3) and in valentinite (Sb2O3). It is alloyed with other metals to increase their hardness. Also in the manufacture of a few special types of semiconductor devices. Also in plastics and chemicals. A few kinds of over-the-counter cold and flu remedies use antimony compounds.
