Plastic welding is the fusion of two pieces (usually of the same plastic type) with a directed hot air jet and plastic welding rod. Used increasingly for the manufacture of tanks, floats and other items. Useful for repair of pipework (either temporary or permanent).
Plexiglas is a hard, highly resistant, transparent, and almost unbreakable glass made from polyakryl resins. It is used for making windows for cars, planes etc.
Point-like object is an expression, usual in kinematics: a point-like object (or a particle) is an object with dimensions, which can be neglected while considering its motion.
Polar covalent bond is a covalent bond in which the electrons are not equally shared because one atom attracts them more strongly than the other
Polar solvent is a liquid with polar molecules which dissolves polar compounds, because the charges on the endings of the solvent’s molecules attract the elements from ion crystals.
Polarised light is light whose electromagnetic waves oscillate only in one flat vertical on expansion of the direction of radiation.
Polariser is frequently a specially made prism from crystal of Iceland Spar (form of calcium carbonate), also known as Nicol’s prism. It can also be a small plate of tourmaline.
Polycondensational polymers are compounds which are obtained by condensation polymerization with successive repetitions of the condensation reaction.
