Urethane is actually a misnomer as applied to polyurethane foam. It is a colorless, crystalline substance used primarily in medicines, pesticides, and fungicides. Urethane is not used in the production of urethane polymers or foams. The urethanes of the plastics industry are so named because the repeating units of their structures resemble the chemical urethane.

Volt (V) is the SI derived unit of electric potential. One volt is the difference of potential between two points of an electric conductor when a current of 1 ampere flowing between those points dissipates a power of 1 watt. It was named after the Italian physicist Alessandro Volta (1745-1827).

kilogram    →   kilogram

Kilogram (kg) is the SI base unit of mass; it is equal to the mass of the international prototype of the kilogram.

The prototype of the standard is a cylinder of platinum-iridium alloy (90:10), 39 mm in diameter and 39 mm high. Prototype of the kilogram kept by the Bureau International des Poids et Mesures (International Bureau of Weights and Measures) at Sèevres, near Paris.

Mass (m) is the quantity of matter contained in a particle or body regardless of its location in the universe. Mass is constant, whereas weight is affected by the distance of a body from the centre of the Earth (or of other planet). The SI unit is kilogram.

According to the Einstein equation

all forms of energy possess a mass equivalent.

mass concentration    →   masena koncentracija

Mass concentration (γ) is equal to mass (m_A) of soluted substance and volume (V) of the solution proportion. SI unit for mass concentration is kg m^-3, but in laboratory practice g dm^-3, which has the same number value, is often used.

metre    →   metar

Metre (m) is the SI base unit of length.

The meter is the length of the path travelled by light in vacuum during a time interval of 1/299 792 458 s.

This definition, adopted by the General Conference on Weights and Measure in October 1983, replaced the 1967 definition based on the krypton lamp.

molality    →   molalitet

Molality or molal concentration (b; formerly m) is a concentration in which the amount of solute is stated in moles and the amount of solvent in kilograms.

The unit of molality is mol kg^-1.

volume    →   volumen

Volume is a space taken by a certain mass of some matter. SI unit for volume is a cubic meter (m³). Changes of temperature or pressure can change volume.

watt    →   vat

Watt (W) is the SI derived unit of power. One watt is a power of one joule per second (W = J/s). It was named after the Scottish engineer James Watt (1736-1819).

weber    →   veber

Weber (Wb) is the SI derived unit of magnetic flux. The weber is the magnetic flux which, linking a circuit of one turn, produces in it an electromotive force of one volt as it is reduced to zero at a uniform rate in one second (Wb = V·s). The unit was named after the German scientist W.E. Weber (1804-1891).
